Nevermore
Project Type
Photo Manipulation
This piece reimagines Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven", focusing on the notions of grief, insanity, and indelible memory. The primary figure, perched on a decaying floating rock, represents solitude and crumbling reality. The lonely tree and naked atmosphere represent desolation, while the raven is a metaphor for obsession; the visitor offers nothing but the echo of its one word, "Nevermore." Red accents may be interpreted as signs of suffering and obsession, drawing attention toward the emotional wounds and burden of unanswered yearning. This piece is intended to combine surrealism with symbols of color to represent the atmosphere evoked by Poe; it's dark, unresolved, and grounding to something psychological.
